worthwhile trade?

i have a 94 black touring with 160K on the body..and essentially will require a new motor. it has a full interior and is in pretty good shape overall, what kind of value should i be expecting in terms of a trade? i have an offer to buy this for $4K in cash straight up, and someone else offering to trade me an 08 yamaha r6 with 3K miles on it. which deal would be better?

sorry if this is off topic, but the value of shells these days seems to jump around a lot so i'm not sure how much i should expect. thanks to anyone to reads this in advance.

My personal opinion is if the exterior is in good shape and the interior is black and in good shape the right person may give you $6000 for it...maybe even a little more. Depends on what your patience is for waiting for the right buyer...and when the next Fast and the Furious movie comes out. =)

Have you ever ridden? If not, the R6 isn't the best beginner bike... Also depending on where you're at in the USA, it's harder to sell a bike in the fall/winter.

If you can only get $4k for it then I'd either hold onto it (if you don't need the money), or rebuild the engine (if you can afford it) and TRY to sell it for $8-$10K.

And you could sell that R6 for more than $4k.

well a rebuild is out of the question and i'm limited on time to sell this since i'm moving out of the area soon. i did think about trading it for the bike and then try to flip it for more, but that's being very optimistic.

4k isn't enough, push for at least 6k.
