Is this a worthless idea?
Hey guys, I just recently bought a Greddy SMIC, and bought a Pettit duct to match up to it. It has always been an observation of mine that the entrance to the duct seems a bit tucked back behind the bumper, and doesn't appear like it gets a sufficient amount of air. Since I have so many stock ducts around, I decided to start hacking one up and experimenting with it. I figured if I could turn the stocker upside down and backwards, and cut the part that the stock I/C connects to, and make some sort of duct that sits lower and closer to the front of the bumper. I'm still experitmenting with this idea, and I believe I may have to cut it even more than I have, as it sits a little TOO far forward, like right in the opening of the bumper. Am I wasting my time with this? Should I just leave the Pettit as it is? Thanks for any input! ~A-Rod

Well I have the 99 spec front end, so the opening is huge. It just didn't appear to me that the entrance to the duct was nearly large enough to effeciently distribute air over the wide area that the Pettit duct is supposed to cover.
