World Of Difference...

I have a 94' FD it was stock other than APEX'i N1 Racing Exhaust. I got the cat taken off in place of a test pipe and also got a 3 downpipe. Doesn't seem like alot but let me tell you, if your 7 is stock, first upgrade you have to do this.

Ofcouse it's alot louder but it's also got some pull. Before I got this done, i seemed to feel like i had sequential turbo lag. You could feel it pull hard and then just stop as in no more spooling. Thought something was wrong with the turbos but I found out my clutch is slipping. So it's going out. Car only has 52,000 miles but oh well, it gives me an excuse to get a racing clutch. I was thinking more in the ACT 2600 clutch. Any other suggestions?

Running open exhaust, without an aftermarket ECU...is getting a little dangerous. Watchout for that ever wonderful boost creep. As far as clutch, I don't know model #'s, but a favorite of people I know is the ACT extreme pressure plate, with the street stip disk.

Seriously dude, get a PowerFC or aftermarket ECU. Like Turborx7s said, running full exhaust is very dangerous.

About the clutch, and extreme pressure plate may be a bit much for the street. Right now I have the ACT street/strip clutch with their Heavy Duty PP in and I love it.

Second upgrade you'll definitely have to do is buy a new motor.

Put the stock cat back on and learn more about these cars before you blow a motor. Start with the FAQ thread.

You may be right man, but I'm a sucker for a nice heavy clutch pedal.

I have the ACT extreme pp with the SS disk and its great. I have no complaints about it.

Do you even have a boost gauge to give you any warning that your overboosting your engine? If not, good luck when that "pop" hits your ears...

I have the ACT S/S and its stiff but liveable and catchs pretty fast. When i first went from stock to ACT i stalled the car once or twice because it caught really fast. If you drive your FD a lot then i wouldnt get a heavy duty clutch.

To sum it all up for you...

Ok, so we made our point, but we threw in some smart *** comments.

Basically, you are going to run your car too lean. We all know, is lean is faster, which is more fun. However, without an ECU, and some better fuel maps, you WILL blow up the motor.

The best advice you have recieved, is put the cat(s) back on until you can grab a PFC, or SOMETHING, and enjoy the car. Otherwise, be prepared to enjoy selling your comic books on the corner for that new motor you need.

Seriously, just yesterday I found at least 3 new posts from noobs that were just wastes of time. I wish there was a thing saying when you sign up that you have to read the newbie material and FAQs...

He will need to keep the boost @ 7-8psi max, with a high flow exhaust and a stock ECU not to lean out, beacuse he'll have alot more air flow at the same boost level, otherwise the ka-boom efect is very likely to accur.

My suggestion is, read-up alot before you start to modifie your car, unles you're rich and don't care about blowing one motor a month.

seriously, listen to these guys. personally, i did the EXACT same thing you did. ran no ecu or fuel controller and ended up hitting fuel cut off a couple of times, and blew my engine at 65k. put the cat back on for your sake and get a power fc.

Put the cat back on and get a intake. Youll feel just as much a difference with that setup and it would be alot safer. But i dont care, let me know if you blow it up, Im looking to get an blown FD for cheaper one day.

haha yeah, run it as it is! There are two lines down by the turbos too, take them both off if you want to increase your boost...

If you have any problems im willing to buy!

Seriously though dude, get a fuel computer or put the stock exhaust back on, or your engine wont last long.

This is exactly what Rynberg, Herblenny and the rest of the senior members are talking about. MIS-INFORMATION. Now more newbs are going to see that comment and run and get a full 3" exhaust and we are a few FD's shorter. Thanx bro. Learn about what your saying before recommending anything. Ignorance is bliss!

I hear you. I have lost a lot of interest in the topics being discussed lately. I like thought invoking threads, not straight BS.
