works bell short hub not fitting?

I seems on really tight (in fact, now, i can't remove it)

but the clockspring pegs seem like they've barely gone in.

is the hub supposed to sit as flush as the original steering wheel?

Edit: managed to press them a bit further in, but not far enough, apparently. theres a strong 'detent' clicking sound even when the signals aren't cancelling. This seems like poor fit, a little disappointing since works bell was not the cheapest hub.

I guess I'll have to drill out the holes.

I had a Daikei hub and it slid right on down to sit flush. Something isn't right here--what is the hub stuck on? Is it the steering column shaft or the clockspring pegs?

i fixed it by boring the holes out by a few thou.

it should be legit, its from evasive. the PN is 910s. Which MIGHT be the problem since it looks like early and late models of the fd use different PNs for the regular boss.

but confusing, because it looks like the short boss, 910s has both sets of holes, A and B from that image.

the RHD japan webpage implies that the 910s IS the correct PN for " RX-7 FD3S With ACC and SRS before 5/95 " which mine is.

So it seems that this is a WB product that just kind of sucks.

Anyways, it's all working now, I just hope that one day in the future, someone will google the problem "works bell short hub doesn't fit on my rx7" and see this.

I have the 910S on my car but it went on without any issues. I did purchase mine a few years ago though so maybe something changed. I'll try taking the one off my fd one of these days and compare with one I just purchased a few months ago for my miata to see if anythings different.

I realize this is quite a gap in time since the tread was active. I just wanted to ask and make sure when you used the short hub works bell adapter it is clock spring compatible? Did it retain the horn functionality is the main question?
