Was working fine...
I am new to the world of RX7 so maybe you guys can help me out. I own a 1993 rx7, that was working great. I have put the stage 3 M2 kit with no problems. Just this week I put on a J and S safeguard v.0 on and have had nothing but problems. I will give a detailed account of what i did, in order to help narrow the problem down. I hooked it up just as the instructions said and fired the car up, no problems, took it out and ran around under boost. It would not build any, it seemed to blow it off, the little control box said it was taking timing out, so i adjusted it acording to insructions, messed with just abouth everything i could on that box, and finaly unpluged it and ran a jumper wire to the two wires that run from ignitor. Got it back home, it ran poorly the whole way, and observed a rough idle, black smoke that seemed to be from an overly rich or unburned fuel. The next morning i could not get it to start, i checked all conections of vacume and electrical. but everything looks fine. I checked the coils and they seem to spark, and resistance was good too, the wires are fine also. So i pulled the spark plug and they were soaking wet with fuel, so a pulled the fuel pump relay and turned it over to get all of the fuel out. I waited for a while then put the plugs and relay back in. Did not start, same thing as above.
My question is what could be the possible problems, could that J and S box have fried the Computer, or is it something else, ignitor, crank position sensor, ect? Help me please, this car is driving me crazy!!
thanks for your time in reading and responding to this message!
