Woops, need help.

i'm in currently in the middle of replacing all the vacuum hoses with viton tubing, and i'm working on the rat's nest. even though i'm being as careful as i can be, i've still managed to break the nipples off of a couple of the solenoids in the rat's nest. where can i get replacements?

if it matters, i've got a block-off plate kit from gotham racing in the mail, so i'll be getting rid of the aws and egr...

thanks in advance

You can get them from the for sale section pretty easily. Or you can get them from Ray Crowe @ Malloy. They run like $50 each from Ray, and you can find them for about 10-15 a piece used...

i was being very careful, but they still broke. some of them are baked so much that they're extremely difficult to cut, just the pressure of my x-acto knife came close to breaking one of them. thanks for the advice, though.

Putting flame on the rubber helps as well - softens it up. It IS tricky, though.

BTW, all the main solenoids are the same. Some have little filters - the filters just pop off and can be moved to the correct spot. So, you don't need specific solenoids, just any will do fine. There are a few "special" solenoids, like the purge control solenoid and the turbo control solenoids, but they look quite different.

are any of the solenoids in the rat's nest part of either the aws or egr systems? if so, i could just trade them out, or not worry if they're the ones that are broken.

btw dale, the check valves are awesome so far, great fit and the ol' blow-test shows they work very very well.

I do not mind. I will not be using them 'cause I'm going single turbo.

This guy has a way to fix the "oops" situation regarding broken solenoid nipples.

Hope this helps.

Yes, the EGR has one solenoid in the rats nest. So you can expect to have one fewer, or leave a broken one in its place to stop the ECU from throwing a code.

luckily, one of the solenoids was the double throttle control, which i'm blocking off and getting rid of. and i'm also eliminating the egr, so i can swap that over. but i still need a couple more!

thanks all
