many japanese spec Fds have the rear seats. or you can buy the parts and swap it into any fd. usually costs around $500 but finding it in perfect condition is a pain. also, space is an issue, u'll need some pretty small passengers

The point if back seats is:

1. That they look better IMO
2. More storage space
3. Have the option of fitting in a third person

I also doubt they are much heavier than the bins. Maybe 15lbs...

the main reason for rear seats was cheaper registration costs in Japan. 2 seater rego was bloody expensive IIRC. One of the reasons why honda delsol, and to a lesser extent the earlier roadsters/miatas and mr2s are so dirt cheap.

Exactly on all 3 parts.

Thats why i converted my car.

Well the main reason is because my car originally had tan interior. Tan interior looks tacky, ugly and outdated so i wanted to do black. I hated the rear bins cause it makes the car look cheap. Plus i have ALOT of supra friends. I really like the look of the car when it has the backseat in the back. Sorta JDM style lol. So i went with the rear seat.

Now car looks 100000x better interior wise. I love an FD black interior. I already had my girl sit back there. She fits (she's 5'2) but its hard for her, the passenger seat needs to be moved way forward. But if she lays down with her legs resting across, she said its more comfortable. idk. She's used to laying down. Damn **** lol

Its REALLY tight back there man. When you take out your rear bins, you'll see fully how tight it is. Its made for a small child, a backpack, maybe your helmet if you track the car and basically for looks. NOT for actually fitting people (adults) there.

And i hope your girl enjoys the laying down part if she's your GF. lol Thats what mainly GF's are for, screwing

I'll sell my black leather back seats if anyone wants them. I just need bins and cash on top. PM me if interested.

What makes it unsafe for a child exactly? It has seatbelts, and it had to be at least partially safe to have passed japan's crash standards...

In all honesty, the backseat area seems like the safest place in the FD assuming you arent so big you'd hurt yourself in an impact.
