Wiring Issues: Trying to find cause

A little background that’s relevant: Brand new rebuild all work done myself, 0 (real) miles since rebuild, pineapple racing medium streetport, converted to single turbo, rx7store extreme fuel system kit (not the injector dynamics injectors though), FJO injector driver, Power FC, rewired fuel pump, all supporting mods.

Since October of last year, got the car all put back together and been starting the car numerous times driving it out of the garage into driveway and let it idle for awhile with no problems what so ever. Until......

Mid February of this year, did what I always do, started the car, took it out of garage into driveway, was checking for leaks and all of a sudden after about three minutes of idling the car just dies on its own. At first I thought the spark plugs fouled like it has before (Cause I know its not good to just let it idle after a fresh rebuild) but as a result my PFC Commander wasn't turning on (screen) and my fuel pump wouldn't prime and had no fuel pressure when I turned the key to ON. I just pushed it back into the garage and just let it go for awhile. Couple weeks ago, I jumped the F/P and GND in the diagnostics box, turned the key to ON and the fuel pump wouldn’t run. I figured out that one of the fusible links right off the positive battery cable blew as well as the fuel pump fuse underneath the dash next to the steering column blew. I replaced those as well as put in a new EGI main relay, fuel pump relay (rewired in the trunk) and Circuit Opening relay. Everything worked as normal again, but didn’t start it yet though.

This last week, went to start up the car, it was turning over and as it was about to run on its own the car dies again…. I lose fuel pressure, fuel pump will not prime and lost the commander screen again. Although this time no fuses blew and when I jump the F/P and GND in the diagnostics box the fuel pump runs, went to switch out the PFC with the stock computer and nothing came back (thinking I blew the computer)…. Have no idea why all of a sudden when it was running fine, and starting up 20 times before, I have these issues without touching anything in between.

I searched and searched but couldn’t find anything that is close to my situation and need some help because I am out of ideas. I know that replacing the Circuit opening relay again will bring everything back to life (I hope) but still don’t know the cause of why I am having these issues. Any help would be appreciated and sorry for the long post but wanted to explain in detail what has been going on.

You need to figure out why the fuses blew before just replacing them. Are all of your grounds nice and tight? You didn't forget any? Make sure the grounds in the engine bay are clean and tight as well. I assume you didn't test any of the relays before replacing them? Test them now and make sure they are receiving power ground when they are supposed too. Try to find the short that blew the fuel pump fuse as well.

I understand that I need to figure out why I blew fuses thats the whole point to this thread. I am trying to get suggestions on what it could be that is blowing the fuses. I tried checking the relays but don't fully understand how they work, thats why I just replaced them to eliminate them as the problem. As I stated, I started the car tons of times before now with no issues so if my grounds werent tight, I would of had issues before now

I'm having similar problems now. The car won't start on its own, but when I jump F/P and GND she runs normally. I was just driving it for about 20 mins and it died on the freeway. I can't hear it prime when I key it on, but can hear some fuel moving.

Did you figure out what is wrong?
