Wiring harness install....

For those of you who have tackled the wiring harness install .... I have just purchased a new wiring harness and I am about to tackle the install myself. So, how long did it take for the full install? Any special tricks or weird parts of the install?

Any advice is appreciated. TIA.

I'm about to install one as well. If the car is mostly stock there will be alot more stuff in the way and alot more connectors you need to plug in. At the least you will have to take off the upper intake manifold, the coils, and possibly the solnoid rack. There is nothing hard about it. Just take your time and make sure the harness is routed right.

I kinda figured that. I'm still running sequential, so I figure I'm going to have get into the rat's nest. Just wanted to know whether this is can be done in an afternoon or if it will be a week long project.

NOT an afternoon project. Expect 10 to 12 hours of monkeying around. You really should pull the solenoid rack to make it easier. If you haven't already, do a hose job while you're in there. Be cautious of the solenoids, of course...

When I was repoping my engine, I pulled the entire solenoid rack and wiring as a single unit. You will need to undo the fuel hoses in back to make this happen, and pull the ignition coils. I found a neat technique on getting the fuel hoses off: take a 10mm open end wrench, slip it over the metal tube in front of the hose, and push the hose off. It really seemed to work well for me.

Anyway, the wiring harness isn't rocket science, just 1/4 disassembly of the entire engine. Hell, you need to drain the bloody coolant if youreally wan't to do it easiest.

But that's my opinion.
