Wiring harness confusion... Help!
I have a question related to the wiring harness of my Series 6.
The end of the wiring harness which goes through the firewall to the ECU has a couple of big connectors. The yellow ones plug straight into the ECU - no problem there. Then there is this male blue plug and strangely enough there seems to be two options for its connection....
Firstly there is this small section of wiring harness behind the ECU which is separate but contains a blue male and female plug at each end, a grounding wire and another line off to a small black box. The two blue plugs run through to each other. In other words they are connected by wires between them - so it seems logical that they obviously don't connect together (although they physically could as they are a male and a female of the same type of plug). I cannot recall whether they were connected to anything in the first place??? Frustrating.
Secondly there is this other blue female plug a little higher up in the harness kind of out back of the ECU. The coloured wires from the back of this female plug do not match the male blue plug from the main harness but I connected it there as the other small section mentioned above didn't seem to connect anywhere except to the small black box.
Would love it if someone could help me out.
Thanks,
Andrew.

development
there are 4 yellow, 1 white, 1 blue, and that black box on the back of the ecu.
not sure what year you have...but here in the states that's all we have and it very obvious which one goes where.
I'd suggest ask in the Down Under forum or find someone local.

I have since discovered that the short section of harness with a blue plug on each end is related to the cooling system recall. It was added later to enable the fans to run after the engin has been truned off.
