Wire repair pieces for oem connectors

Per Ray- I heard we cannot get the new wire or any oem plastic connectors from Mazda ?

anyone have any other options?

it’s for the idle air control. The plastic connector is still good. Just the wires and the piece to plug in doesn’t lock in to the connector anymore (so the wires slip out)

Amazon

eBay

Aliexpress

Etc...

just google FD RX-7 ISC valve connector or idle air connector

Also check links below if you want original connectors:

Plenty of options for replacement connectors.

If the pins/terminals are not locking in its most likely broken locking tabs inside the plastic connector. Those usually fail before the metal pins/terminals fail. So best would be to get a new connector and I bet your old pins would snap right in and stay in securely. When you insert a pin into a healthy connector you usually hear a click sound (true for most Japanese connectors on our cars). Most places that sell connectors should also include new terminals if you need to replace those as well. Just use a proper crimping tool.

My suggestion is to contact Joe at Cycle terminal, he is a great guy and will help you out.

Just a heads up, buying new plastics is really great, I am a bit concerned with the crimped end. The spring tab looks missing on the squarish one. there should be two. the other one I don't think should have any, they usually click in place from a plastic tab. You might have an issue where one stays and the other doesn't. Look for retaining tabs on the squarish one. The good news is, if the squarish one has tabs but are sunk in a bit. It is pretty common with molex lugs, even new ones. Use a very small pick or screw driver and bend them outwards, very gently. Also, the squarish ones could be held in with plastic tabs too, that would be ideal, Best wishes.

Edit: with some research, these aren't Molex most likely. I am not as familiar with these as I suspected. Sorry for the junk post.

This thread has a lot of great harness and connector info, including a few places to buy connectors online:
https://www.rx7club.com/3rd-generati...guide-1129705/

One of the posts in the thread is a link to a website that someone built, including part numbers and photos for most of the connectors on the engine 'longblock' assembly:
https://stocksray.com/pnconn.html

And that stockray.com website suggests the Idle Air Control Solenoid Valve is part number 7223-1324, from Yazaki.
Here's a link to that part from Corsa-Technic, it's a kit including the two pins that can be crimped to the wire.

I agree with Spalato, you probably need to replace the plastic housing, the pin retaining locks inside it are probably damaged. You might be able to keep the original pins. Post some closeup photos of the pins if you're not sure what they should look like.

it does not, but be kind to yourself or future owners and jut put them back the correct way. Could save you/other headaches later on, and the wiring is readily available in the (free to download) factory service manuals.

I had pretty good luck finding replacements from rywire.

https://www.rywire.com/category-s/1898.htm

I ended up just replacing the entire engine harness with a new one from wiring specialties and a factory battery harness from Ray.
