Window motor change
To remove the power window motor passenger side-- do you have to go beyond the door panel removal?
I've had the door panel off and don't recall seeing how the window motor is hooked up.
I know there are a series of bolts/screws on the inner door that might remove the middle or the external door skin.
To change the motor, how far into the door do I need to go?
Thanks,

The shop manual explains all of this work precisely. IF you've removed the door panel and hardware without breaking any of the plastics, you've already done the hard part.

I'm looking at s-10 in the fsm, looks like I unbolt from the door panel and them I'm guessing, it will fit through the opening somehow to remove the old motor and then back through the hole with the replacement.
The motor is attached to the rail the guides the window up and down. You've got to unbolt the 2 bolt holding the window to the rail and take the whole thing out. Thats the motor and rail. The motor will unbolt from the rail at that point.
That is probably the easiest way.
If your looking into replacing the motor, make sure you get the year specific cuase the gears are different for alternating years and you'll be stuck with something you can use.
Good luck and be careful not to break anything it gets tight inside the door.
