Will a worn clutch lose a lot of hp!?!?!
Some of you might have read my thread on my dyno results from the other day, 317rwhp @ 15psi, which I think are pretty low. But someone pointed out to me that my clutch could be a culprit.
I still have stock clutch, 46k on car, only been to the track once, never drop it, BUT about a year ago I was driving and my car would make power(boost and rpm's) and the car would not accelerate much? I haven't had that happen since then, but I hear that is a sign of a bad clutch.
Would a worn clutch be a reason I am missing about 30-40whp?

I agree, when your clutch slips it usually smells. Also, while accelerating hard ( like WOT ) your rpms will rise rapidly with no noticeable increase in speed. Tom

Steve,
I didn't notice any smell and it didn't sound like your clutch was slipping. ie the increase in speed of the dyno wheel and your wheels matched the speed of your engine revs. If it was slipping you would have probably seen your HP drop off as well as soon as it started slipping.
