will this work for ast?

Hey I was just on ebay and saw this oil resevoir and wanted to know if it will work for an ast replacement? I don't see why it wouldn't, they both hold liquids. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

Hey you must have all the answers in the world for the rx7! Do you even have one? I see you have been on this forum for almost an entire month. If you don't have any good advise don't reply. You must not have a life at all to respond to threads that bother you. Since you are out in CA go out and drive your car instead of being on the computer, or did your mommy take it away from you?

Calm down buddy, hes got a point... I wouldnt risk buying that. Ast elimination kits and aftermarket ones aren't even that expensive so I'd just go with what you know works.

That won't work. You need somewhere for the coolant to go when it expands (ie pressure cap)

Even though the guys above may have been a little abrasive, they are right. An overheated engine is not worth saving 20 bucks.

To answer the original question - no, that won't work. The AST has to have the radiator cap with the overflow at the top of the tank.

Also, I wouldn't trust something that's designed to hold non-pressurized oil vapors and blowby with 200+ degree pressurized water, especially when it's from Ebay on the cheap .
