Will The Power FC Cure All My Ills????
ok.....it seems like everyone thinks the Power FC will basically bring world peace when it somes to the third gen RX-7, it allows you to monitor engine vitals, adjust fuel delivery, control boost....****, it probably even checks your blood pressure!!
but here's the deal....I just want a reliable car and I don't have the time or the money to dump into it that everyone else on here seems to have....I have a strong running original engine and turbos and want to keep it that way....I really wish I had $4k laying around for a PFC, bigger injectors, fuel pump, regulator, and countless hours of dyno tuning and goofing around with wideband O2 sensors....but I don't (and it's a zero return investment anyway)....so, is there any reason I should be worried with a Pettit ECU, stock fuel system, and 13 psi? I am very happy with the way the car runs and I just want to be happy, haha
the only issue that sill bothers me is the high boost I get in this freakin cold weather...I saw 14.5 psi last night in 3rd gear (about 30 degrees out)!! does the AVC-R or whatever it is modulate boost control to account for fluctutaing temperature?
thanks in advance from the low buck 3rd gen guy
peace out

you sound cool, I would just get a a/f gauge. Controlling boost is tough since you haev midpipe. I woudln't worry, just stick some different pills in. I have pfc, and even that needs a littel adjustment for cold weather. I saw .94kg/cm2 last night, with 25C air intake temps.
PFC is great and all, I just don;t know that I woudl sell a pettit, etc to get one. Now if someone gave you a few hunfred bucks for pettit ECU, plus money saved on any boost conmtroller, PFC is pretty cheap right now.
