will 95 windshield fit 96 rx7

my friend who owns an 96 rx7 in pakistan broke his windshield. the windshield is not available at all in pakistan (theres only a handful of rx7s in the whole of pakistan). he wants me (in USA) to ship him one. i have two concerns. 1. the cars here are left-hand, and 2. rx7s got discontinued in 1995. so, does anyone know if the windshield for a 95 left-hand rx7 will fit and 96 right-hand rx7?

secondly, where else can he purchase the windshield from? in other words, do you guys know of any places in asia where he might get it from?

I don't see any reason why the windsheild wouldn't fit, it's the same chassis, same series. I don't think the RHD/LHD would make a difference..

It should, as that it would have been a major investment on Mazda's part to rework the windshield and surrounding sheetmetal.

The 3rd gen is still available in Japan (up to this year anyways), and is essentially identical - so having one shipped from there may be more cost effective.

You can get a nice replacement from a company called PPG (makes replacement glass among other things) for less then $200 (local shop quoted just over $200 with installation), but make sure you use the factory molding. I've heard horror stories of generic molding that shops like to use shrinking over time.

Just a matter of arranging shipping for a fragile, bulky item like that.

Best of luck!

Here's a link - perhaps they have a distributer in Asia:

Anyways, much less then a factory piece.
