Wierd like metal scratching from turbos!

I rode in my cousin FD and his turbos sounds perfect.
(mmzzzzz).

But somehow my turbos sounds alot different from his.
My turbos sounds very loud on high gear during low RPM with like a metal clinging together (khxssksskssshhh), but boost still boost properly though.

Just wandering if you guys know what could be the problem to this.

Mine started making that noise soon after I did the poormans non-seq. Basically my secondary had been blown for a while, but the seq. control system wasn't working so it wasn't spooling anyway. As soon as I got air to it I heard the horrid sound it was making. Upon teardown, it was described to me by someone with 20+ years of rotary work as "Just about as bad as I've ever seen a turbo." Sorry man, doesn't sound good.

You have excesive shaft play.

You can pull the intake elbows loose and see if the blades are scoring the snail.

Start looking for a new set now. If you break the blades (i did once) pray that they get stuck in the intercooler and dont get sucked into the engine...

I ask you to read this thread. In a nutshell when I hit around 4500-5000 my car made a squeeling sound like metal on metal. The crossover pipe was loose at the couppling.

Remove intake elbows and check for shaft play as already mentioned.

The reason they still boost fine is because they can still rotate. It's only a matter of time until something breaks, though.

I concur here as well.

You might have the blades now, but they will get broken off if you keep driving on this set of trubos.
They will only get worse.
