Who's Still Runnin Stock Motor Mounts?

Just wanted to see if you were still runnin the stock mouts and how far you were into your mod list. As far as upgrading them, is the Mazda Speed mount our only option?

Me too I think, and hopefully the same HP if not more than above. Since I have the torque brace on though, I don't notice any movement. But, it you've seen my recent post about a vibration I just started getting I may be replacing those after all. Motor's got about 14k on it so I have no idea if those were replaced when that happened or not.

Screw dampening, I'll go solid if I can, and if I have to.

I got the stockers seems good so far but I can always use an engine brace. I probably have either 40k miles on them or 114k miles on the motor mounts. I bought the car with a rebuild already done. They seem pretty solid so I would be guessing it's more of the 40k range miles.

Stock one's here. Don't really see a problem with them.

I got the ones from RotorSports Racing. Some vibration at idle but no more missing 3rd and no need for a brace.
Also about the same price as stock one $350.

So if you have a brace is there any need to upgrade the mounts if they are in good shape? rebuild time is near...trying to get all my ducks in a row...

I wouldn't, just because I don't want my car to rattle appart. Although, I'm not sure how much the aftermarket ones dampen (does that make sense?) My theroy is that if the stockers last long enough and I enjoy them I'll just stick with stock.

Hey Dave,

Stock ones will work just fine. How many miles are on yours again? I will almost guarantee you that (if they are your original mounts) definitely one and possibly both are bad. We won't know until the motor's out.....I can tell that you're already chomping at the bit, though

Mine were broken badly. The driver's side was nearly in two pieces and was doing nothing.

I made my own poly mounts with materials from mcmaster ala ISUposs and damian for about $70. They turned out great. There's a little low RPM vibration, but I don't spend much time under 1500 RPM if you know what I mean

With motor mounts in new condition and the GTMM torque brace you should be fine . Plus the ride will be smooth and tight feeling . Gar installed one last night and the owner was so surprised how the car changed from idle to shifting better . It is hard to explain .

really, how can you tell?

yeah, I am 99.5% sure they are stock with 85k on them. And Yes I am chomping for sure and ready to pull this sukka out. I got the primary and secondary fuel rails with 750pri & 1600sec both top feed...Should get them monday or so. Think I may have gotham replace the wiring harness too...when I did the hose job that thing was brittle as hell.

So if the mounts are in fact broken should I replace them with stock ones or mazda comp, or urethane?(where do you get urethane mounts?)

What's up with the no Pm thing, man?

Anyway, I don't want to get mine polished...I want to get an already polished one...that way I can drop it off for the rebuild and just have them install that one...then I can sell mine.

Mine are still stock with 102k on the odometer. KDR just replaced the engine, and I assume would have told me if the mounts were bad...
