At least it's certainly cheaper than my sister's habit of collecting horses which u can't exactly overhaul it's engine.

I thought your car was on #6 about two years ago.. Hmm..

At any rate $3,000 x 6 = $18,000.... Ouch... And people think jimlab has a huge amount wrapped up in his engine..

IM at 185,228 miles now. 3rd motor, 2nd set of turbos and 2nd tranny. The turbos lasted till 161, the apex seal killed my primary. Tranny lasted until 175K.

I now have about 161k on my motor and about 90k on my turbos. At 155k I drove from the Bay to Chicago and back. At 150k OMP went out and FPD (small fire) and I put on a fpd, dp,silicon hoses, ACV and removed all AC and PS. At 135k did a 5spd swap(broke a LVL 10 and a stock AT). At 130k drove from Bay to Chicago and back and added bigger radiatorbypassed ast. Before that..only put a cb on. Having an AT in the car is what most likely extended the life of the motor and pretty much keeping the fun stuff on the freeways and not in-town(like Mustangs).
She's still goin strong except for all the cheap plastic ****. No smokin no overheating.-Stefan

Necro bump, whos got the highest mileage these days?

A few years ago I picked up a 1993 non running, previously automatic, FD and finally had the gauge cluster rebuilt, 252,906 miles!

When I ran the carfax, I couldn't believe my eyes, showed 212,741 miles on December 23, 2004! Wish I could ask the previous owner how they racked up soo many miles while keeping the car VERY clean. Came from California and most of the stock nuts/bolts/hardware still has nice gold zinc plating on it.

My buddy has a 93 Touring with 212k on it. Owned by an old lady, had a full engine/trans/turbo replacement at 120k. She daily drove it.
No idea what it's up to now.
