You can block out the license plate number by using Microsoft Paint.

Do it now.

I have always pondered what the big deal is in hiding your license plate. If you think it does anything like help keep you car safe, you are retarded.

Why do you need to block it out? Someone with a plate like that I would think likes to show it to people. Heh heh. Nice car BTW....

Carbon fiber is much stronger than fiberglass, so no, it doesnt defeat the purpose of carbon fiber over fiberglass.

LOL the ricers are all like "Why paint CF? What's the purpose"

Talk about looks over function....the point of a CF hood is rigidy and lighter weight (and in this case too, vented). Not just cause its CF and looks "HiZot" :P

yes, that's mazdamike from the cooler forums, his car is very tasteful and I hope to match it someday.

He said he'll leave it CF for a while then paint it in the future. Nice car, cool kid, awesome Rx7.

Stronger? In a front end accident, neither are likely to survive. More likely the Fiberglass will harmlessly shatter, where the Carbon hood could come back through into the car.

..says the new FD owner.

It's been talked numerous times that a Fiberglass hood barely weighs anything more that a Carbon Hood and isn't a legit reason for getting one over the other. You may save 5 lbs.. Ohhh such savings.

Some people such as myself don't enjoy paying to have their hood painted every year due to rock chips. For that reason alone, I will never paint my CF hood.

I don't think it's a ricer question or the risk of rock chips. Just a question of preference. If your young(er) you probably prefer the look of CF. If your a fossil (like me) you might prefer the painted look.
From what I've seen though, if you intend to paint a hood, go with the gel-coated FG. It's much easier to prep and block. I'm thinking the CF hoods tend to require alot more prep work to keep the cross-hatch pattern from coming through and being visable after paint. At least in the ones I've seen painted.
I like that hood though. If I was going to get a vented hood, I do like those.

The only reason that I could see not to paint a carbon fiber hood is the fact that the paint would put it back to the wieght of a stock hood. Otherwise function over looks for me.

not painting CF is "rice"... I have plenty of friends with CF parts and i think it ruins the car.

you'll never see me buying CF parts... F that...

I especailly dislike the scoot CF hood...

Yea I had no clue. I was talking out of my ****. I just know that leaving it CF is part of the "Rice" Craze, so even if I liked that look, it'd be hard to do that and not feel like I'd be a part of that same crowd.

Your right, the stock FD hood is already light If I go aftermarket, It's only for the vents for temps plus the nice looks of a nice vent.

Matched colors of course I'm a "Young fossil", I love "original" stuff.
