Who wants the honor of converting my tail lights to 99 spec?

I looked around and the only person I found who posted that could do it hasn't replied to my PM so I figure I'd look elsewhere. If you can do it, how much is it going to run me? I read the writeup and it doesn't seem to difficult but I lack what is commonly known as patience and I can visualise myself melting my tail lights with the heat gun. Any takers?

I see the pic... but in person... does it look like someone took black spray paint & blacked out the tail lights so only the 3 circles were left, or does it look like real 99 spec lights? I know it won't look the exact same... but I don't want some half-assed-looking DIY job on my car (not to insult anyone who's 'converted' their taillights)

You can't tell that they are spray-painted if done right. I have had several comments on mine from people that actually have paid the hefty price for the real ones. I personally like the real ones better, just because they are "OEM" but for asthetics, you can't tell unless you know what to look for (i.e. on the OEM lights, the cirles are raised) plus the difference in price is what did it for me.

big hint on the conversion

after doing my last set in the winter and struggling with the heatgun to pull them apart i found a much better way this summer

Q. how hot does it get in a parked car under full sun in the summer?

A. hot enough to perfectly soften the glue all round and pull apart your turnsignals

so take them off your FD, pretty easy - just pull sideways and then remove the screws

then leave them in the back of a parked car in full sun on a hot day. after a few hours at 100degreesF/40C get in the back of the car and pull them apart. take a plastic lever to pry out the 2 clips

way way easier than heatguns

Quicksilver, the picture you posted looks good, do you have any others? Also, about how long will it take you to mail them back to me?

Ryan Wolfe might still do a conversion for you....you can PM him at rx7even.

He was the first to start doing these years ago and has done dozens of sets. He is professional and does a great job. Shoot him a PM.

It would take about two days to do them once I receive them. Total turn-around time is about 4-5 days.
