i have been deciding these last couple of weeks weather i should get a koyo or a fluidine radiator. from what i understand the koyo has fitment problems because of its size and thats a good thing i think and the fluidine i have no knowledge on but im not sure if its bigger or smaller any way i was wondering what radiator(s) are recomended because i need help on what im gonna get i dont want to get a expensive crapy radiator. thanks

From personal experience I can tell you the Fluidyne is an awesome radiator and fits like a charm. The Koyo has a bigger core but like you said it has fitment issues. In reality either one you choose will do exactly the same thing so it's really a matter of whether you want that perfect fit or not.

With Fluidyne my stock air box pinched down on the radiator hose. After several overheats I discovered it. Lesson: If you're using the stock airbox make damn sure the hose underneath the airbox isn't getting pinched. I had to leave my airbox on loose then temps were fine but it was too late, engine blew a seal soon after.

That airbox problem is true but I had switch my intake out anyways so no big deal. So yeah I guess that's one fitment issue as far as the Fluidyne gos.

koyos suck because no 2 are exactly the same.
they work fine if you can shoehorn them in, though.

Interesting... maybe that's why I had no fitment problems at all with the Koyo. Just got lucky I guess.

I just got the large race aluminum radiator from radiatorworld.com. Thing is really big and seems hard to beat for the price. I dont have any experience with koyo or fluidyne so i cant compare the quality but for the price im not complaining. Are you putting it back into the stock location or are you using a fmic??

$180 shipped from e-bizzle. it's a universal so i gotta do the brackets myself, but whoopity doo. that's what i had to do in the first place anyway.

get the fluidyne radiator. I use the stock airbox with Adam C airbox mod and have no problems at all. also do the Dale Clark FC fan switch mod. this combo works great!

I've got this same one running evans at zero pressure and a miata switch. Drag, autocross and track the car as well as drive it in heavy traffic with no overheat issues whatsoever

agreed, its not like you have to chop any metal or do any rediculous fabing to get it to fit. both radiators work great (know from personal experience) so i think the obvious question is "do you want to save yourself some money?" get the koyo.

I'd say if you want the best bang for the buck get the race version from radiatorworld.com. It's the one I have and I only had minor fitment issues that were easily resolved.

I would say go with the fluidine over the koyo. Again for the way the koyo fits and I hear is harder to set up if you should go with a front mount intercooler.

if you can do the brackets yourself, you can get a better radiator for about half the price.

I had no fitment problems with my Koyo. But since my whole turbo setup is custom I had to make my own brackets. BTW its behind my FMIC.

I have been using the Koyo for almost a year without a problem. Fitment wasn't an issue at all.
btw your FD looks sick. Keep it stock.

if you made your own brackets, fitment issues don't count. in that respect, i didn't have any fitment issues with my afco, but then again, it's not in the stock location, so it doesn't count either.

today's operational definition of fitment: does it drop right in the stock location without any trouble? and does everything else still fit?

What do you guys think of the mazdaspeed radiator?

My car's getting a new radiator and tri point wants to put on a mazdaspeed radiator but I've heard that the the koyo and fluidyne radiators are cheaper and perform better.
