I am wondering how I can make my own. I'm thinking anything that can be cut w/ some tin snips would be too thin. what do you guys use to cut thicker sheet metal with?

i do, you dont really need too thick of a metal, i went to home depot, the only aluminium i could find was a scuff pad thing for the bottom of a door, its about 2mm thick, and i cut it with some sharp metal sheers and sanded the edges to make a nice fit. make sure you use a good sealant when you bolt them up as well. PS dont use any metal that will rust

The above link might help you. I used 3/16" aluminum plate for block off plates, it's pretty much up to you what you use. I would recommend something a little bit thicker than sheet so it doesn't flex and leak, that would be a pain. I think most people bandsaw or jigsaw them.

the only time i ever make bop's is when i need them at that exact moment in time and can't wait for shipping. it's a waste of time to make them, otherwise. you can't duplicate that quality and have it be worthwhile time-wise.
