Who daily drives their car?
I've been reading and a lot of people seem to use their car for weekend driving or don't drive it everyday. I drive mine everyday, I paid for it so I want to enjoy it everyday. Why would anyone not want to drive such a fun car everyday???

Got My CYM in Feb of 93, and it's been my daily driver ever since. It's had one occasion when I didn't drive it for about 2 months (rebuild) but other than that, it has been my sole means of transportation.

When running (which it is not now), my FD is my daily driver. My 88 TII (currently a restoration project) is my "give the FD a rest" car of choice. My beat up 1987 Volvo wagon with >300K trouble free miles on it is my ever dependable backup. (BTW yearly Volvo maintenence has less than $100 including oil and filters---hell, I've never touched the engine and only replaced one clutch). God I wish Mazda could make a car with the performance and looks of the FD or FC and the dependability and longevity of my Volvos.
I want to drive it every day when I wake up... Then I remember what a booring bullshit ride I have to work and take the jeep. Using my 7 for getting from A to B is bullshit. I reserve it for when I can DRIVE. I still drive it to work 2 of 5 times though. But I get frustrated driving it every day. The other cars on the road are just too much of a pain.
Mine is daily driven. Almost 35,000 miles in under two years along with more than 20 autox events a year. The motor lost an apex seal at the track at 98,313 miles last month and and she already has a couple thousand on the new motor.
I figure I bought the car to drive and it goes everywhere: long trips, work, grocery store...But my favorite place to take her is the race track and put on the slicks! Woohoo!

I daily drive mine too, but I'm always on the lookout for a clean 1st or 2nd gen within driving distance. I would much rather put the daily work commute on a N/A rotary (read more reliable).
Mines been my daily driver since I bought it in April. It's either that or my old Talon TSi that's been sitting for 4 months and has developed a bit of a smoking problem... There are only two things that frustrate me about driving my FD every day... First, I spend a crapload on gas because I always seem to find myself taking the scenic route home...
Second, nobody races me anymore because they all know my car by now, hah.

I've had my FD since 1996 and it has been my daily driver ever since, except for really hot days. Then I ride my sport bike. When I used to drive the 42 miles to Santa Clara, being in my seven was the only thing that made that shitty commute bareable. BTW, I live in San Francisco and love hitting 12 psi from stop light to stop light ... lol

Daily driver, until about 7 weeks ago. As soon as I get the motor replaced (I started tearing down this week!), it'll be back to daily driver. It's that or the 88 Escort I've been schmucking around in for the past 7 weeks....hmmmm....tough choice.
I've never understood why you would by such as awesome car, and then NOT drive it 75-95% of the time. I bought it to enjoy driving it, not enjoy looking at it. It's been driven in the rain, and snow, but the snow is more of a "damn, I didn't know it was going to snow!" thing. After getting stuck last winter, the Escort will be the car if there is even a *chance* of the white stuff.
