who buys wrecked FD's?

my girlfriend and my car were in a bad accident a couple days ago. i haven't even seen the car yet, but several friends say that it's definately totalled. i'm more than likely going to buy it from the insurance company and part it out. i was just wondering if there was anyone that might buy the shells or rolling chassis.

Turbojeff would be an obvious answer, but he's on the other end of the country from you.

I bet someone on torquecentral would buy the shell/rolling chassis from you too, assuming it's in decent shape. Of course, then it would end up with a v8 in it, so that might not be the best course if that's something you'd be sensitive about.

*edit*

I should add my condolences. I'm sorry for your loss, and I hope your GF is ok.

noooooo...... i loved that car!! you did such an absolutely spectacular job on in, and inspired me to keep going on mine . BUT.... in the end it IS only a car, and there are more important things than the car. hope you and your girlfriend are OK. cars are replaceable (even one as spectacular as yours). when youre feeling up to it im sure we'd all like to hear what happend etc. once again, sorry about the loss of the car... but most importantly i hope you and your g/f are ok. regards, heath

Fritz parts-out a lot of them.
turbojeff has done a great job repaing quite a few
Ive been looking for another rx7 thats wrecked to repair. I've owned a fairly hevily modifed fd and have worked in collison repair for the pst 6-7 years. You be amazed at whats repairable. send me some pics. I might be interested in the shell if you want to sell it that way. Dessouki1321@msn.com Mike

also when you talk to your insurance you do not have to accept there offer. Bring recipts and find comprable cars to yours for sale. This one is very simular. http://www.rotarytraderonline.com/listings/l0032.html I belive in the end he was asking 26k.

thanks for the kind words guys. she is doing quite well. amazingly, all she had was minor bruising and had to have her spleen removed because it was injured. i finally saw the car earlier, and sadly, it's definately totalled. she was basically forced into a guardrail, went through 2 lanes, a median, another 2 lanes, and head on into a guardrail on the other side. it appears to have slid under the rail versus getting a solid hit. from what i can tell the driver's shock tower is now sitting where the elbow used to be and the whole thing seems to be bent. i haven't gotten any pics yet, but once i do, i'll post up another thread. incidents like these really make you take into consideration what really matters in life.

edit: also, for those who've sent me pm's, i'll try to get back to you soon. i have a lot going on right now, so it could take some time
