Unhappy White smoke upon startup

I am concerned for my car now that i have done a search to check the status of my car and its condition from previous problems.

Right now i have an oil leak that is very minor and looks to be the oil pan which I will get around too. The main problem I see now is that the engine puts white smoke out upon startup for about 40seconds or less.

I read posts after doing a search saying that seal failure does this and a rebuild will be needed shortly.......Is this true? The engine seems to run very strong with power but does tend to heat up quick and fans run. Engine coolant stays filled with no leaks, Intake is fine, radiator is fine also.

Only reason I am concerned is the white smoke. Any idea's why it is doing that or is it true about the seal failure?

If it's only for 40 seconds or so, it's doubful it's a coolant seal failure. It's probably just oil burning off from the turbos. Make sure to do a proper warm down before shutting the car off.

Usually with a coolant seal failure, the smoke will be heavy and it will last for 5-10 minutes.

Ok thats a relief. I always warm the car up or even when just moving it to a different spot i let it run for about 5 minutes. b/c i heard its bad to start them then shut them off really quick. It doesn't do it everytime it starts, Just when its sat for more than a 12 hours or more.

is it cold out when u start it? if so , being that the rotary heats up real quickly, if there is condensation in the exhaust it can be that smoking up.

Otherwise as u said its after u let it sit for 12 or more hours, it could be that the oil builds up over that period of time.

Especially if its humid where you live. Were currently in spring where the weather changes and we experience a lot of rain and condensation during the wee hours of the night. It could be possible your just having some condensation in the muffler burn away.
