Whenever I start my car I get some minor white smoke come out of the exhaust for a few seconds. It has a funny smell to it, but i can't decipher (college word) what it is. Any help?

I'm having the same problem with my RX7 but the only thing I have found is that my check engine light is on and the code i get is for the EGR valve. When I start my car I have A LOT of smoke until I drive the car around the block and kick the turbo's in a little... Then it goes away. This only happens when the car sits over night and fully cools down, then i go out to it in the morning and it happens again. SOMEBODY HELP ME!!!!

A little smoke (mostly blue) upon startup is normal bc rotary engine seals leak a little oil into the combustion chamber. When you start the car, this small oil gets burnt which is why you see the smoke for a few seconds.

If the smoking is more than 30 sec, you have a problem.

crai6m4ck, My engine light is on also (has been ever since i put on the gforce ecu). It says its the egr valve also. Mine doesnt seem to smoke as much as yours does, mine lasts a few seconds, but i can see it come around the car (nothing huge) when i start it up. i pump the gas a few times and its gone.
