white smoke and hard starting
Ok, im going to go into great detail as none of my sesrches are answering any questions. I have a 93 touring. It has 68000 miles on it. Has greddy single turbo conversion, greddy front mount, greddy exhaust, and greddy bov. Also, it has power commander ecu. This is the wag i biught the car. Right after i bought it i had my buddy compression test it w his rotary compression tester. All were 130+. Heres my issues. Sometimes it blows white smoke sometimes it dont. Smells strong i wouldnt exactly say it smells sweet. Also to start it i gotta crank for a sec, hit the gas once and shell start. Most cold starts and occasionally on hot starts. Idk if its a fuel issue, tune issue, or rebuild time. Any help would be great.
Sounds Like a coolant seal to me, I had one go on my first FD it would smoke like crazy when cold then quit once it was warmed up. Definitely check to see what your coolant looks like.
Agreed. Do the "champagne" test -- while the engine is cold, pop the coolant fill cap and then start the engine. If you see a stream of tiny little bubbles that constantly come out as the engine warms up, it's probably time for a rebuild.
