the end of the tool with the little slit in it is used...you slide the metal rod the pointer is connected to in that slit.

pop off the needle stops after you've got the gauge face off. make sure you're watching when it come flying off and be sure not to be in a carpeted area or else you'll never find it!

thanks, also... the tachometer needle seems to stick on the white face. I noticed its not the same form as the black faced gauges. (doesnt have the offset around the slash marks) should i try to glue the face against the clear plasic backing with clear model glue or something of the sort? Oh! and you must read peoples minds cuz about the dont't be in a carpet area... yeah... i was in a carpet area... and yeah... i lost my needle stop. have to make shift now. thanks again.

Triangle in da house!

Yeah, you have to glue the center down on the white tach face and I didn't quite push the needle all the way back down, either. Go to Wal-Mart and buy some Goop ... it comes in all types, just go to automotive and get Automotive Goop ... but if they don't have it then check hardware dept. It's a clear flexible adhesive, comes in a tube about the size of like gasket maker stuff, but it's in packaging. So you put a thin layer of Goop on the clear raised portion behind the gauge and I weighted it down overnight with like a 19mm socket around the center hole and the biggest socket I could find stacked on top of that. I also put a very thin dabble of Goop behind the other faces where they would touch the clear plastic behind them ... and weighted them down. I hope you haven't taken the protective plastic off because the socket may be dirty. If that's the case, just line the base of the socket with some scotch tape (smooth side facing gauge face, of course!).

Exclamation white guage face instalation

Im guessing you got the needles off by now.But if you still need more advice that "tool" nr sends with the faces is a show! I just used two miniture flatheads and popped them off that way. I used instant glue on the tach gauge to get it to stay. Also I would suggest that after you put on the new faces and needles back. you should take the white assembly and plug into your car and do a test drive to make sure your gauges are accurate before you put the whole cluster back together. I f your having problems set the needles on with the white unit pluged in while the car is idling.
Hope it turns out ok.
