Look on the diagram for the Purge Control Solenoid:

http://www.fd3s.net/vacuum_hose_replacement.html

The line which goes from the UIM to the Purge Control Solenoid has a check valve in it. That's where it goes.

On 93-94 cars, this is your stock PCV:

On 95+ cars there is only one breather hose connected to the oil filler neck that goes to the primary turbo which is always under vacuum. It's a common mod to delete the line from the oil filler to the pcv and cap it off at the manifold, then use your oil catch can inline between the remaining line that goes to the primary turbo.

Mahjik - thanks, I posted a thread few weeks ago about exhaust smell coming in the cabin and you recommended to replace a check valve...would this be the one to fix that problem?

Possibly. There are so many causes for the fuel/exhaust smell during acceleration that one fix doesn't cover all. Did you pull off the one from your car and test it? Just buying parts without testing what you have is not a good way to fix a problem. If you didn't test it, its possible its fine and the problem is else where...

There are two types of check valves which can use the "PCV" acronym. One is the Positive Crankcase Ventilation and the other is the Purge Control Valve. One is for the oil system, the other is for the fuel evaporative system. The one for the oil system comes off the oil filler neck and was elminated on the newer RX7's. The other one comes from the catch tank on the fuel system under the TB to the Purge Control Solenoid. It then goes to the UIM.

That line vents the gas fumes back into the intake. The check valve is aluminum just in case any gas mist comes through.

Ah good stuff, I didn't realize there was a second "PCV" ;P Who comes up with these names anyway.
