Where to get twin plate clutches?

Hiya,

Where does one purchase OS Giken or Ogura multiplate clutches on this side of the pond?

TIA.

I used to like ACT...in fact, I got the Extreme 6-puck and SRM f/w combo. During my rebuild, my tuner calls and sez "your 'low mileage' clutch is toast. the pucks ate the flywheel". Great...i've got less than 5000KM on this...no drags...no road racing...strictly driving to/from autox and autoxing itself. Time to move on...

cripes...that's more than I expected. I think you can get triple plates for that. and what's the adapter? I thought OSG's are already pull-type like OEM FDs.

The OS Giken's have an adapter on them to turn the OEM Pull type into the FC style push type...makes for separating the engine/tranny cake.

I think they're right around $1500 new(push type adapter/flywheel/birdcage/2 plates/2 disks/bolts/clutch cover/cool nifty stickers). The rebuild kits(2 plates/2 disks/new allen bolts) cost $600~. The kit I have in my car now has survived over 100 launches off the line @ 6000+ rpms, daily driving for 3 years and Nitto's.

Sounds great but how do you keep the rest of your driveline together?

mazdaspeed diff/diff brace/tranny brace/solid motor mounts maybe?

I haven't upgraded my axles as of yet. I don't get any wheel hop so I don't worry about it too much.

Really? How much HP are you putting out? At what HP level do you plan on upgrading?

So...how does one go abouts sourcing from the motherland? Is Dragon (Chris) or you able to get them over here? $1500 w/ adapter seems more reasonable than $1800 + a $500 adapter.

Sorry for keeping this off topic but would your Mazdaspeed diff be the upgraded power plant frame? Maybe I'm just confused! Also whats your best 60' with this set-up. I always though upgraded diffs and axles were neccessary for high rpm launches. But it looks like all that is needed is a tranny and diff brace. Correct me if I'm wrong.

The Mazdaspeed diff is a differential, not the ppf. If your ppf is in good shape, a transmission/diff brace will really eliminate the need for the upgraded ppf.

thats what happens when you drive a copper clutch on the street. if you dont slip the **** out of it and get it hot it will wear very fast. same as racing brake pads. theres no reason you need an extreme clutch for driving around and doing some autox.

Oops, forgot to add the MS PPF as well :P I have never broke drive line parts(finds the nearest wood to knock on) My diff is an upgraded unit, though not the kaaz one I want. From my experience, the stock axles can handle lots of power...they just can't handle lots of wheel hop. I launch at 6000 rpms + .....sometimes 7000 rpms for ***** and giggles and everything has held up fine so far(knocks on wood again)

Who knows how much HP I put out...I've never dyno'd it. Probably right around 400 on the street. When I go to 19 psi it gets crazy though.

When I brake the stock axles...I'm get the chromoly axles, but until then I'm not messing with it
