Where can I buy Mazdaspeed products?

I am looking for a carbon fiber Mazdaspeed hood for an FD among other things. I have the Mazdaspeed catalog but it's in Japanese. Who can I order from? Any help is appreciated.

If you are looking for the 15th anniversary carbon fiber hood, that one is already discontinued. The only one available from Mazdaspeed is the R Spec dry carbon one but it's about $3300.

I have run across the MS site before. How is it possible to order from them? Do you have to go through JT imports?

You don't have to buy from JT because we can import it as well. It's not listed on our website because I doubt anyone is going to buy a $3300 hood.

This is bugging the crap out of me.... What exactly is the advantage in a $3300 "dry" carbon fiber hood? Besides the obvious, like bragging rights and a nice high quality finish, what does it weigh compared to "wet" (???) carbon fiber? I have talked to Attila (see post above) and he sells a carbon fiber MS replica that weight about 17 lbs compared to like 16 lbs for "pure" carbon fiber (without fiberglass backing). Both of these barely weigh less than the stock lightweight aluminum hood. I want it for the strength, look, cooling and weight but several $100 for a few pounds is not a very good deal. Does anybody know what the stock hood weights and what the best CF hood to get is? (besides scoot which cools super good and probably doesn't weigh crap because of all the holes, I think it's butt *** ugly and rain gets in it.........thanks

You aren't getting much lighter than stock thanks to it being aluminum. Most people get CF hoods for the vents and cooling.

Actually the Mazdaspeed R spec hood isn't all that nice. I saw it in person at the 2003 tokyo autosalon and the carbon fiber pattern is not even straight. The advantage of that hood is that it's stronger than the regular wet carbon fiber hood because it's vacuum bagged and autoclaved. It's an expensive process and on top of that, it's Mazdaspeed. That's why it costs that much. It should weigh about 3 lbs less than a regular wet carbon hood because it does not have extra resin.

If you don't like the Scoot hood, maybe you like this one.

If you want something more mild, then you should go with the KS one or Attila's MS copy.
