Where to buy stock R1/R2 front spoiler?

Hi All,

Ok guys, I searched and searched over the last two days and can't find it. All I want is a stock R1/R2 front air dam or front chin spoiler or whatever you want to call it. Not the 99, but just the stock spoiler.

Mazda sells it for 232.00, and I can't find it on any of the popular RX-7 websites.

Can anyone beat 232.00 because I am buying it today if no one posts with a better deal.

Thanks,
Joseph

You can get it from Malloy Mazda or Mazdaformance at a discount.

People also sell them used quite frequently on the forum.

R1 lip from malloy is $200.00 shipped. If your converting froma touring model don't forget to get the brake ducts (2). I think they were $70.00 a piece.

If you don't know Ray Crowe yet at Malloy Mazda, I highly recommend you make it a point too!

Awesome guys. I just called Malloy Mazda and I spoke to the nicest girl ever. I put her on hold to answer another call from my boss, and she was sweet enough to wait about 5 to 6 minutes for me to finish up and get back with her. Awesome Customer Service.

The part was 92 bucks a piece, and she overnighted it all the way to Texas for only 4 bucks. So 188 shipped, overnighted. Awesome!

I will definitely do business with them again for all my needs.

Thanks,
Joseph

P.S. I tried to order it yesterday through Mazda South (Austin) and was almost begging to give my money to him, but he insisted I go on the website and basically brushed me off. Not cool.

Question brake ducts

So I had a base '93 and put on an R1 chin spoiler. I've got the backing plate/brake duct setup from N-tech, and my StopTech brakes came today, so I'll be hooking up the ducting, soon, if I can figure it out. My chin spoiler (from Mazdaspeed) didn't come with separate plastic pieces to close in the top of the brake ducts, like my chin spoiler on my Miata did. I can't find anything like that in the parts catalog, either. Would the person above who mentioned getting the "brake ducts" be kind enough to share a part # or other info.

That's because Mazda stupidly called the part -- air brake pipe duct.

The part numbers are (L) FD03-43-64XE and (R) FD03-43-63XF. The parts are on page 2-I7 of the catalog, BTW.

Macdaddy - Rynberg is correct on the P/N's. Here's the complete invoice a got from Malloy (including the hardware to install them - few extra fastner's etc. that are not part of the touring model setup).

Qty: 1 Desc: Air Brake Duct (Right) P/N: FD03-43-63XF - $70.19
Qty: 1 Desc: Air Brake Duct (Left) P/N: FD03-43-64XE - $70.19
Qty: 2 Desc: Fastners P/N: EA01-50-EA0- $2.38
Qty: 2 Desc: Plugs P/N: HE03-10-404- $3.76

Total (Including S&H): $146.52

MacDaddy,

Please post some pics of your brake ducts, I would like to see what they look like. Maybe take some pics and have a nice write up for us. I am not all together sure where it is routing the air to....

Thanks,
Joseph

P.S. Also, my comment about Mazda South (up there) earlier today was a bit harsh. Later today they emailed me back with pictures and part #s of everything I asked for. So they aren't so bad after all.

wheres the brake ducts? why do you have to get the brake ducts in order to install a r1 lip?
I thought to install a lip all you need to do is remove the little lip from a touring and replace it with a r1 lip?

rynberg & TAMAatwork:
Thanks, guys. I saw the "air brake pipe duct" in the index, but couldn't find the picture to make sure it was the right part. I'll order them tomorrow.

TAMAatwork & Rx-7 Enthusiast: The R1 spoiler has openings to direct air towards the brakes - sort of like a NACA duct, but the spoiler itself only has the bottom part. The "air brake pipes" pieces fit on top of the spoiler part-behind the spoiler where you can't see it from the outside, and close in the top of the duct. The N-Tech brake ducts replace the dust shields for the front brakes with a piece of circular stainless steel that closes off the opening of the "hat" and has a 3" pipe coming off the inside. For max brake cooling, you connect some 3" tubing between the opening in the spoiler and the 3" pipe on the N-tech pieces so that you have a steady flow of high pressure air pumping into the center of your rotors and out through the vanes. If you just like the looks of the r1 spoiler, you don't need the brake ducts. You only need them if you want to enhance brake cooling. There are several good pics of the N-tech ducts on this forum. When I get the "air brake pipes" I'll post some pics, if 93silverbullet doesn't beat me to it.
