where to buy a jspec motor
i was wondering were can you buy a jspec motor from and would it work with the stock usdm tranny or would you have to get a jspec tranny

don't race, don't need to
What I really meant was "Is there anything special about the "jspec motor" that you want to spend all that money and time to convert your system to this?"
As I understand it, the engine is essentially the same. The ECU is different (RADICALLY different). The trannies ought to bolt up. The real insanity is completely re-wiring the ECU and dash board to accomodate the "jspec motor".
Jspec turbos, on the other hand, are a different question

I don't think ECU is that drastically different.. I heard that ecu program is slightly different because of higher boost patterns on the 280HP twins..
Besides the elimination of egr and stuff.. its basically the same engine.. turbo is slightly different.. but only on Rz model.. other models will have the same 255HP twins..
If you want to have, jspec LIM, you could pic one up from Jesse Lau..
He has one for 180 shipped.. i think.. that was you don't need blocking plates..
Hope this helps..
Oh.. I did hear that RZ trannies are much better.. handles little more power..
