When you can rev the engine without pushing the clutch in.

HAHAHA. good one Dr. Wankel

Its when you are driving or starting going and your REVS go up but your speed doesnt. Mind you this means your clutch is FU*KED!!! You will notice mostly in the morning, or when it gets really hot after driving a while/// Its normal for any car, depends on how you clutch your car, and how old it is...

Your clutch slipping does not have anything to do with the Mod's you have on your car. You did not say how many miles you have on your car? But, it really does not matter. I changed mine at 35,000.
Go to www.scuderiaciriani.com if you decide to do it yourself. It helped me.

Put the car in fifth gear on the highway and roll the throttle on. If you notice that the revs start to climb faster than they should, your clutch is going and needs to be replaced soon. Don't slip it too much or you'll have to get a new flywheel and might kill the rear main seal. That said, I think you should get a light flywheel and getting a new main seal with the clutch out is a good idea anyway. But it is better to not need to do them (and do them anyway).

You know your clutch is slipping when:
1. You grandmother beats you off the line and to the next light in her 56 Oldsmobile.
2. You can pratice speed shifting without using the clutch
from a stop with the engine running.
3. Your car is just as fast in reverse as in 5th.

Another symptom of clutch slipping:

Sometimes when I am getting on it and shift from 4th to 5th, my engine revs stay higher than they should, then slowly (over a second or two) come down to match my wheel rpm's where they should.

But since you'd be exceeding the speed limit (anywhere in the US) getting on it in 4th needing to shift to 5th and continuing to accellerate, nobody else here probably experiences clutch slip like this... (I certainly never have, but I hear it is a symptom)

But why my mechanic told me that the stock clutch can only hold up to a certain HP, 360 or something like that . Beyond that you need a up grade clutch. ?????
I'm confuse now .

hell yeah you need a new clutch...stock clutch will handle 300 hp at best. Get the ACT with a lighter flywheel

I apologize. I did not write down everything I was think at the time. What I should of said was. Your mod's have nothing to do with your clutch slipping, because the stock clutch was not good enough to start with. I believe many had been recalled on the '93 model. My '94 started to slip at 35,000 miles. So, Yes it would be wise to upgraded clutch to handle your mods. Again, sorry for the confusion. Will try not to be so brief in the future Are you going to do it yourself? The site I showed will help answer any question you might have.
Good luck

The one I have for sale is better than the stock one and it is 150 than the ACT that I have in my new car. It may not be as good as the ACT but the only difference was the pressure plate.

Still for sale.

RX7s - When you decide to upgrade yor clutch. It's also a good idea to replace the clutch release fork. I have heard about other people replacing their clutches only to pull them out again because the fork had cracked. Mine was ok, but it's cheap and nice to know you won't have to pull the clutch twice.
