What's this wire under the seat?

I noticed a loose wire/plug coming from the floor under the driver seat. I didn't remove the seat but it doesn't look like there is a connection point for this plug. Does anyone know what it is?

It is the seatbelt connector. The seat end is located directly behind the release handle.

If its unplugged it does nothing. When its plugged in, the seat belt light comes on (and beeps if I remember right) when you take off your seat belt with the car on.
