What's the problem with my fuel?

I just put in a downpipe and boost controller in my car. I already have an intake and exhaust. I took it out for a spin once I installed it and I was only getting 5lbs of boost once I hit about six the my car started to feel like it was going to die like if it hit fuel cut and the boost went back down to zero. At first I thought it was the boost controller not hooked up right, so I took it out and drove it around and the same thing happened. Am I hitting fuel cut? Shouldn't it be doing that only if I had higher boost? I know a ecu or air fuel controller will probably fix this but should I be able to have around 11lbs until it would hit fuel cut. I already did a search and can't find the exact answer. Thanks for your help.

This is not the first time this has been said, but check for boost leaks at all the couplers, etc. That's what it sounds like to me.

You could also have an ignition problem - sometimes a bad plug or wire or coil can feel like the boost disappears.

I'm assuming you have a boost gauge?
Also, which boost controller are you using?

Do you have a PFC? I hope you do. However, you shouldn't be hitting the fuel cut. I think that only happens at the higher rpms. Anyways, check your y-pipe, couplers, solenoids, etc... just as DaveW has stated.

Another thought - a collapsing intake hose can cut off air flow and therefore result in similar symptoms.

I have a boost guage and a Greddy profec b. Right now I'm working on getting a new ecu or pfc. Does anyone have a good picture or know where I can get one of all the solenoids I should check. Thanks for your feedback.
