whats my problem???

My guages arent lighting very well, and the dimmer doesnt work. When I hit the brakes the guages light up like normal. i have a pulley on the alt but when I get on the gas some, they dont light up like they should. They only light up when I hit the brakes. Does anybody know what this problem is?? I have 93 fd for the ones that always ask "what year?"

You probably have short on your parking light system most likely in the rear parking lights; thats why when u press the brakes the short is bypass and the gauges return to normal. Did you change bulbs lately? Did you try some "Ricky" light conversion? Hope to have helped somehow...

just drove the car and thats not the problem. Last night i drove it and thought that was the problem but isnt. the guages now light up after I drive it a few miles. last night they where lighting up when i was going down the drive way(I keep the car in nutral and foot on the brake) Im taking the car back to the shop to the gauy that sold me the car and let him fix everything.
