Question What's the best way to improve your 60' time?

Is single turbo only way to go? My car (stock) has a huge turbo lag, and it takes forever to "take off". I see some of the members have 0-60' less than 2.2 sec without too much mods. Is this possible with stock twin-turbo?

Thanks

tires. if you are having problems with lag, are you sure your sequential system is working correctly?

the harder you launch, the harder it will be on your rear end though, which is why you don't see a lot of guys running hard core slicks on stockish rear end FDs.

1.77 (on ET Streets). Stock turbos, non-seq., 15psi, 5500 RPM launch.

You will however explode your differential, if you don't upgrade. I went with a S4 TII after 'sploding mine.

The first (and only) time I went drag racing, I was hitting 2.18 60's with stock size street tires and only a downpipe and cat-back at 10 psi. And I was really shitty at it too.

I think you need to learn more about your car before you continue racing

It shouldn't be hard to get right around 2.0-2.2 with street tires and a completely stock car.

Try lowering your tire pressure to around 20psi. Keep the boost up by slipping the clutch slightly on the launch, keep the revs around 3500rpm, don't dump the clutch, that will bog the engine and/or cause wheelspin/wheelhop.

Seq should be easier to launch than a single.

learn to brake boost. but don't race unless you can afford to fix stuff, like a blown tranny or rear end.

you could always do a manual swap but it won't be easy.

brake boost if you got an auto, run a 2 step if you got a stick.
