What is this thing?
My car is missing this...there is a nice empty bracket for whatever this is. Something important?

that would be the air separator tank, or AST

Your car most likely has the AST elimination mod with the lines closed off. Search AST elimination and you can decide if you want to reinstall an AST.

oh ok thanks. In that case I have an aluminum AST that I bought that is now for sale. might as well not mess with my system, since it seems to be working fine.
