What size are the 1999 fog light bulbs?
The information in the forums. I looked it up a while back and bought bulbs. Unfortunately, although the bulbs were of the right socket, they were a bit too long. Just do a search you should be able to find it.
Hey dude,
Not sure how much help this will be - but I just took apart a 99 fog light.

The markings say "JA12V55W" - so to me that means it's a 12 Volt, 55 Watt "JA" bulb - which I've never heard of.
But leave it to Google and you get lots of options:

If you want that whole assembly pictured, you can have it - just PM me.

Thanks Matt, those look like H3's.
Supernaut, Yeah I did search and all I was finding on this forum, NoPiston and Google were the rx8 and 93-95 rx7 fog lights. Also you may have got the H1 bulbs they are longer.

But if you can make H3s work - let us know!

Zoom in and you can see H3 marked on the base of the bulb.
(Not shown in this photo but I also replaced the connector from the '99 fog light with a new one that matches the 93-95 body side connector to make it OEM.)
How is the beam pattern looking? I am debating keeping the '99 fogs (which seem to do less than a mag light, even in heavy fog) or replacing them with something more modern (and brighter) -- even after I adjusted them, they don't light much up!
I agree the 99 fogs aren't very effective as additional lighting at night (beyond looking good), and considered retrofitting these Raybrig LED fogs. However I really don't drive my FD much to justify the retrofit.

You may also want to consider H3 LED bulbs.
Yeah, I'm actually debating swapping fogs completely, or keeping the OEM housings and upgrading to LED bulbs -- the cost difference isn't actually that big, since high quality LEDs are still so expensive!

Fog lights typically don't have much of a beam pattern, they just fill in the area immediately in front of the car. They really don't add a ton to visibility - if you really want amazing lighting, going with a Sakebomb headlight kit will do the trick.
