what r the symptoms of only 1 rotor running??

hi all

am worried that Im only running on one rotor....sob.

have any of you had this happen???

what are the symptoms?

here are my symptoms...

very rough idle...bub bub bub bub bub bub bub...til 3000 rpms....then it sounds smooth....it also shakes a LOT at idle...liek a broken motor mount or something....

it only feels like it is pulling about two thirds as strong as normal during test drives...maybe half.....

it also is very boggy off the line....chugs a bit...

BUT...here is what I dont understand... at any cruising speed over 15mph the car sounds perfect...that is just until I accellerate...then it just feels slow..but sounds only slightly rough....

what do you think?

input is appreciated.

Jason, you check your map(boost)sensor hose on the firewall? Mine blew off on hard launches until I finally zip-tied the damn thing down.

If you have only one rotor working, you should have lots of smoke coming out the exhuast. Do you ever see smoke? Under what conditions? I can't imagine how you could have a blown rotor and not get any smoke.

Hey Artguy,

I seen your latter post about the low compression, my condolances also.

I can tell you from experience the effects of only one rotor working is just the way you described it. Severe shaking.

I wouldn't expect to see any smoke from the one rotor working, but by the other one not, I would guess it would dump oil into the exaust flow thus, causing smoke. The car is shaking because it is out of balance and sluggish because it now has half the power. The very same thing happened to me but I thought it felt like a tire out of balance.

later,

Scott
