What is this plug conection for ?

I purchased 94 FD few months back and I have a connector plug hooked up on the drivers side under the dash that I have no idea what it is for ? i contacted the previous owner who has owned it since 1998 and he has no idea what its for, he thought it has something to do with the stock alarm system.

Does anyone have any idea what it could be ? it has a red led light that stays on all of the time !

Hmm

I don't know if that is it or not, but when I had my very first FD, there was something that looked like that and I had to have a "card" slide into that and be kept in there in order to start the car. I don't know if that is the same thing as what I had. It was like another "key" that needed to be in before I could turn the car over.

that looks like one of those prolock things. Its just an ignition locking system that uses a card. Since you can obviously see how well they work, just go ahead and remove it. there is probably a ground, and 2 wires that splice into the clutch interlock switch. remove it all and call it a day.

this is what he is talking about:

If your car runs without anything connected there either leave it alone or take it out carefully not to damage any remaining wiring.
