What kind of clutch do i need?
Hey guys whats up? well my fd has a apexi power fc, apexi power intake, downpipe, and a apexi n1 exhaust. im guessing im around 300 hp from what the rx-7 store told me. and well i race my car occasionally and when i shirt into 2nd my rpm's stick and dont go down till like after a few seconds. and it does that in 3rd gear also. and usually before i had this problem i could burn my tires in 2nd and have my car go side ways and it doesnt anymore because of the rpm's sticking. and i smell a very bad smell and im sure its clutch. so do you guys think its the clutch and if so with the mods i have what type of clutch should i go for? thanks!

Grab the Street/Strip clutch:

You also might think about a replacement flywheel. If it's something you might want, this would be a good time to do it.

you probably only need a low milage used DISC and a HD pressure plate...The disc in the rx7 is strong its just the PP doesnt have enough clamping power....
I could be wrong..I hope not though

A lot of people go with a lightened flywheel. They are great for open track driving as it allows the engine to be able to recover the rpms much faster. However, they aren't great for drag racing as the lightweight doesn't have the inertia to get the car moving as well as a heavier flywheel.
Daily driving on a light flywheel is ok. You do have to slip the clutch a little more starting out but it's not a problem.
