What intercooler..?

Hey guys,I was wondering if somebody could help me choose a good intercooler for my setup,as that is one of the next mods I will be completing.I have a brand new streetported motor,Pettit intakes, downpipe,Magnaflow catback, all reliability mods completed, and I am still running the stock sequential turbos..If it makes a difference,my car is an automatic..I am not looking to spend a fortune, although I am fully aware of the "you get what you pay for" statement..I have Pettit Racing do all the work on my car,and I use a lot of their parts, but I wouldn't like to spend over $1k on their coolcharge intercooler..So can anybody please give me their opinion as to what I should go with??Any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you are looking for a good IC under the 1k mark, I would look around in the used section. Not because you don't have enough money to get a good new one but if you can get a Coolcharge II for ~400-500$ or a M2/ASP Medium for a little more it will be more than enough for your power/boost levels.

Good luck with your project,

Alex

P.S A personal side not I would recommend maybe saving for a EMS(Engine Management System) something like an Apexi Power FC. With a good tuner your will be able to get that perfect idle from the streetport (if that is an issue right now) also it will protect your investment in that new motor.

As stated above, if you're running the stock ecu with your level of mods I wouldn't recommend adding an intercooler until you can a power fc or something similar.

Lightbulb reading material on ICs

If haven't already, or just don't remember anything, spend some time reading about intercoolers HERE You'll learn a lot!! You really ought to poke around fds3.net to understand the consequences of your modification path.

As a side note: I LOVE my new ASP/M2 Medium
