ok well i intallled my 2krd rail and 1600 bosch injectors, and during the instilation you had to remove these things.
..what do they do? help in fuel atomisation? just wonderin, im guessin i dont need them any more???

Len ... I don't see what you're talking about, but based on your description are you talking about the long black plastic inserts with the mesh screens at the end? Then your guess is as good as mine -- the screens aid in atomizing the fuel.

wierd, spraying a fine mist of fuel on a mesh screen to aid in atomisation....almost makes me wonder what these engineeres were thinkin sometimes, but they have to know what they were doin....right?..i think ill add this to my list of mazda "acomplishments"so that makes

those plastic things are the "air bleed sockets" they help guide the fuel charge down the port instead against the wall of the port. since your using the k2rd rail you can remove it. BTW: make sure you tighten down the rail to the holding bracket firmly! "Maestrul's" rail got loose over time

While they are air bleed sockets as PowerAxel said, I've been led to believe that they do aid in atomizing fuel, but the injectors do not spray a fine mist, but a steady stream... just a head's up man!
