What the heck did I do to my Rx7? Help!

I think I hurt my rx7. i turned it on and didnt let it warm up. I reved it really high and took off(i know that was really dumb, i thought the same thing, but I was showing the car to a friend). A few minutes later the car is having trouble ideling. It normally ideals between 1000-1200rpms, now its almost turning off and sits around 800rpms. Engine is shaking now. It also now lags(stutters) when driving between 2000 and 3000 rpms, especially in fifth gear. I got a little black smoke coming out the back now and it smells like gas/oil. I think I broke the seals. Any thoughts?

Stock 93 Rx7

Check the vacuum line that goes to the map sensor on the firewall. It's like the easiest thing to check before you start worrying about seals. When the map sensor vacuum line pops off it makes the car run like garbage.

I dont have a vacuum gauge, but will get one tomorrow. thanks for the tip. The smoke is consistent, but its not a lot of smoke. its a little dark in color. I remember in my second gen I brew the seals and was burning oil, that was white and was much worse.

yeah, sounds like you're running rich... that normally suggests the map sensor... you need a boost gauge anyway.

Did you check the MAP sensor like someone said?

This could be the answer to your problem. If not, compression check should def be next.

good 'ol map sensor. We all go through this don't we?
anyways, I think your idle is some what high? It might be better to set your idle at 850 rpm - 900 rpm.

lol...

makes me want to ask...

what if it WEREN'T the MAP sensor..

same symptoms he described...

chipped seal?

Loss of power is usually a tall-tale sign of lost compression, no? I've read about the whole shaking needle too.

That would suck.

Don't you still have the factory double throttle? that shouldnt allow you to rev it quickly when the car is cold. Mazda was trying to save the car from guys like you
