It wouldn't work so well on twins because one of the turbos faces the toward the firewall, so it would be sucking very hot air. Plus there really isn't even room back there for a proper sized filter. I suppose you could rig up a dual "short ram" system if you're really creative. Who knows, that may actually work with a Scoot hood that diverts air toward the rear turbo. Since you're a noob thats way our of your league though

Rigging up the secondary would not be worth it. I would want to take in air from anywhere near the downpipe. I don't care how much airflow is there.

Behind the radiator probably isn't a whole lot better.

Get one of those flexible air ducts... Its kinda like a “bendable” hose. It will allow you route some outside air into the engine bay. Helps a little….

But where are you going to pull the out side air from?

I thinking about doing something like that. But I have no place to the duct for the fresh air...

Here's a pic from Rotary Extreme showing their horizontal intercooler setup. But you can see that their single turbo receives intake air from a "cold-air" style box, probably getting air from beside the radiator.

You could be stirring up a hornets nest here! I would recommend doing a search for mods or upgrades I am sure many people have asked this. Some people get evil in their posts when they see posts about stuff other people have already asked...just giving you a heads up.

YES you can run filters off twins w/o piping.

I bought a K&N recharge kit from pettit for their intake and was originally planning on running them with the stock rubber tubes, but didn't have room with the FMIC and aftermarket rad. I stuck them right on the turbos. Use the straight neck filter for the rear turbo and the bent neck filter for the front turbo. If you look at the car from the front, the front filter is curving up and to the passanger side fender(think of the passanger side cylinder bank of a v8). It was very very close to one of the belts so I pushed/crushed in the side of the filter closest to the belt about 1/2 inch.

I have had it on my car for about 3 months w/o a problem. The turbos spool up nice and fast now

most cars are designed to have some sort of piping about the same diameter of the throttle body (or in this case the turbo) directly before the TB (or turbo). I think it's for air velocity reasons.
