what goes here?

I am posting a question for friend new to roataries. He has a 94 rx7 and when he got in all vaccum lines, intakes, intercoolers, and air pumps were off of the car, and the turbos are missing some pieces. right behind the upper intake manifold there is a hole that leads into the engine, the hole is facing towards the firewall and is about 1/2" to 3/4" big and has to small holes for screws to hold in whatever flange does there. He has no idea what piece goes there and doesnt want to try and start the engine without knowing what it is, if you have any info please let me know. Please dont bash for being a new guy with a car he doesnt understand because everyone has to learn, so let me know
