what goes first?

I want to know what exactly is usually the first thing to go on the rotory engine? If it's the seals, can you get stronger ones or have them made?

there isn't something that really goes bad before anything else. the problem spots are:

pre-cat
apex seals
o-rings (coolant seals)
radiator

there's lots of debate over what is a better seal. There are alternatives to the stock 2mm seals both is size & material. Hard to say if any one is better than another. A lot depends on your driving style and what mods you have done.

The apex seals are made out of hard carbon and there is an upgraid. The man that designed the ceramic tiles for the space shuttel also designed ceramic apex seals that are superior to metal seals in every way. The engine builder that builds the engines for Downing ( the 4 rotor that will run in the 24 hours of Daytona) and Team Spencer ( the 3 rotor srp 2 car that will run in the 24 hours of Daytona) uses the ceramic seals and reuses them on rebuild because they do not wear down. He changes the springs but reuses the seals. Check out

also after hearing about the apex seals and the horror that they cause you would probably just want to replace them before they go but the thing is in order to replace them the whole engine has to be taken apart anyways and thats never an easy job. but good luck none the less with whatever you do
